Room Lighting Planner

Plan bulb requirements for one room before you shop or talk to a contractor.

Room Lighting Planner

A room lighting plan starts with the fixtures you already have. List each fixture, count its bulb positions, then choose the specs that fit.

1. List the fixtures

Write down ceiling fans, lamps, recessed cans, sconces, pendants, vanity bars, and any other lights in the room.

2. Count bulb positions

Multiply fixture quantity by bulbs per fixture. A pair of lamps with one bulb each needs two bulbs. One chandelier with five sockets needs five.

3. Set the bulb specs

For each fixture, choose base, shape, brightness, color temperature, wattage equivalent, and dimming.

4. Review energy and shopping needs

Use hours per day and electricity rate to estimate monthly bulb energy cost, then turn the room into a printable report when ready.
